ugee has launched ugee maker, a moderated 3D-printing community designed for families, children and beginners. The platform aims to make it easier to find reliable models and explore 3D design without requiring technical experience or a particular brand of printer.
A curated library of printable models
The library combines professionally tested models, creations shared by community members, and designs developed with artists. ugee says its official files are checked for reliable printing on most consumer 3D printers, and that the collection is moderated to help families avoid unsuitable content. Models are available in STL format, with new official designs released weekly.
The platform connects with the ugee ufun app and the company’s Funbox printer. Users can browse models on ugee maker, download them through ufun, and print them on the Funbox.
Creative tools powered by AI
ugee maker’s CreateLab is intended to introduce children and newcomers to 3D creation without requiring CAD skills. Its “AI Magic” feature, developed with 3D-generation platform Meshy AI, turns uploaded drawings into 3D model files.
A separate “Fun Playground” mode lets users customize existing designs through drag-and-drop tools. In the “Garden World” experience, for example, users can arrange flowers to create a virtual garden while becoming familiar with concepts such as 3D space and volume.
Designed for families
The platform uses a child-friendly interface and simplified tools for importing models and sharing creations. It also includes onboarding guides, tutorials, technical questions and answers, and FAQs to help families get started.
ugee maker is now live. The company says its future plans include more CreateLab tools, a community space called Maker Square, a technical Q&A forum, rewards for uploads, and recurring printing challenges.
