It’s not every day that you find a crowd gathering around a printer at a trade show late in the afternoon, but that was the scene at Prusa Research‘s stand during Formnext. Visitors eagerly witnessed the capabilities of the Prusa CORE One, which was showcasing its ability to print with eight different materials thanks to its collaboration with Bondtech.
The standout feature was the Bondtech INDX, an impressive multi-tool upgrade designed for the Prusa CORE One. This enhancement features an aluminum-bodied INDX Smart Toolhead paired with a self-adjusting dual-extrusion feeder, allowing it to adapt to various material hardness levels. The configuration of filament spools is neatly optimized, with four spools per side, maintaining the compact design of the CORE One even with the additional materials.
Josef Prusa, CEO of Prusa Research, emphasized that the team worked to ensure the INDX felt naturally integrated with the CORE One, achieving a sleek aesthetic despite the increase in functionality. In a bustling trade show environment, where major industrial players often reveal large-scale machines, the attention garnered by a desktop filament extrusion printer’s multi-materials upgrade speaks volumes.
