Students at the École Centrale d’Électronique (ECE) in France have welcomed a groundbreaking new classmate named Milo – the nation’s first autonomous AI student. Unlike typical AI tools, Milo possesses not only cognitive capabilities such as text generation, equation solving, and diagram interpretation but also a physical embodiment, thanks to advancements in 3D printing technology.
Over the summer, ECE’s robotics club took on the project of creating a physical form for Milo. Utilizing a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Combo 3D printer, they constructed a chassis that houses her screen, sensors, and even a small plant atop her head. In under three months, this initiative turned an idea into a tangible entity, showcasing how additive manufacturing can expedite development processes in robotics.
