ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Da Vinci Science Center recently held the inaugural public event for its new Fab Lab, showcasing its capabilities in 3D printing, laser cutting, and more.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to create custom egg-shaped ornaments by designing their own artwork. The center used graphic design software to digitize these designs, which were then laser engraved into wooden pieces.
Trey Yogeshwar, the Fab Lab manager, emphasized the importance of such facilities in developing essential skills for students and job seekers, aligning with the needs of modern industries. He also mentioned a mobile Fab Lab that can travel to schools and summer camps, introducing younger generations to innovative technology.
Additionally, the center will host an ongoing workshop for creating custom egg ornaments. This workshop complements other activities such as the Egg Catapult, providing diverse learning experiences centered around creative technology.
