Philips ensures that all 3D printed parts maintain high standards for quality and safety, though the effectiveness of these parts depends on adherence to recommended printing guidelines. Currently, the only available part is an adjustable comb for the OneBlade trimmer, which users can print using standard PLA filament. Philips advises against modifying the design to save material, as this may affect the part’s durability.<\/p>\n
The initiative holds potential for improving device longevity and reducing waste; however, it will only be impactful if Philips expands the offering beyond the current single part. The company hints at future releases, such as adjustable guides for other trimmers and components for electric toothbrushes and hair dryers. A form is available for consumers to request different parts, but there is no guarantee regarding the creation or availability timeline of requested items.<\/p>\n
