In the ever-evolving world of additive manufacturing, 2025 marked a year of significant progress with many noteworthy startups emerging. Among these, 3D Architech<\/strong> was highlighted each month for its innovative contributions to the field. The culmination of this recognition was the announcement of the Startup of the Year<\/strong> award, for which readers were invited to cast their votes. After a month of voting, 3D Architech triumphed with 193 votes out of a total of 729.<\/p>\n

Active in both the United States and Japan, 3D Architech has developed an innovative gel-based metal 3D printing technique. This proprietary process begins with a lithography method to create gel structures with intricate designs. These structures are subsequently converted into fully metallic components through a unique transformation process.<\/p>\n

According to Kai Narita, the founder and CEO, this technology excels in producing minute features, as small as 10 microns, and facilitates a cost-effective and high-throughput production. It effectively bridges the gap between research and development and the manufacture of customized, high-performance parts. The technology\u2019s versatility makes it suitable for various applications, particularly focusing on cooling, energy, and manufacturing sectors.<\/p>\n

In addition to 3D Architech, other startups were recognized for their contributions. The first runner-up was AM3L<\/strong>, a French company specializing in metal additive manufacturing with a focus on creating structures with customized architectures. The second runner-up, Signature & Authentification des Mat\u00e9riaux (S.A.M)<\/strong>, is also based in France, working on 3D printed authentication tokens aimed at combating counterfeiting and protecting data.<\/p>\n
