Students at the \u00c9cole Centrale d’\u00c9lectronique (ECE) in France have welcomed a groundbreaking new classmate named Milo \u2013 the nation’s first autonomous AI student. Unlike typical AI tools, Milo possesses not only cognitive capabilities such as text generation, equation solving, and diagram interpretation but also a physical embodiment, thanks to advancements in 3D printing technology.<\/p>\n

Over the summer, ECE’s robotics club took on the project of creating a physical form for Milo. Utilizing a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Combo<\/a> 3D printer, they constructed a chassis that houses her screen, sensors, and even a small plant atop her head. In under three months, this initiative turned an idea into a tangible entity, showcasing how additive manufacturing<\/a> can expedite development processes in robotics.<\/p>\n

The school’s Director, Fran\u00e7ois Stephan, highlighted Milo’s role as a mediator between students and faculty, enhancing educational experiences. Beyond attending lectures, she can also be accessed via a mobile app, where she offers guidance on coursework, internships, and overall campus integration.
