Innovative Guitar Designer Unveils First-of-its-Kind 3D Printed Guitar

August 6, 2024

Mark Gutierrez, a versatile guitar designer and modder, has taken 3D printed guitars to a new level with his latest project. Known for upgrading pickups and crafting unique instruments, Mark created a Rhoads V-style guitar featuring layered patterns that save material during printing and create an otherworldly effect. The body, printed in pieces, showcases his thoughtful design and ingenuity.

Mark highlights the speed of the build thanks to 3D printing technology, despite challenges like surface cohesiveness. Carbon fiber rods and epoxy adhesive address string tension, ensuring durability. “This guitar came out absolutely killer and I couldn’t be happier,” says Mark. He emphasizes that mixing 3D printing with traditional methods can yield practical and visually stunning results.

Mark plans to further explore this hybrid approach in future builds. He believes that a combination of 3D printing and traditional techniques can produce guitars with unique aesthetics and practicality that traditional methods alone cannot achieve.
