Unlocking Potential: CIECA Webinar on 3D Printing in Collision Repair

The Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) will host a free webinar titled “3D Printing in Collision Repair” on March 27 at 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET. This one-hour session aims to explore the current applications of 3D printing within the collision repair industry and its potential future impacts.

The webinar will feature insights from Harold Sears, who leads the advisory council for Auto Additive, and Gerry Poirier, a consultant with Vector Squared. They will cover various essential topics, including:

  • The types of 3D-printed parts and the materials used
  • Comparing the pricing of 3D-printed parts to traditional replacement parts
  • Quality control measures and certifications
  • The potential impact on customers
  • Liability issues associated with 3D-printed parts

Harold Sears brings over 36 years of automotive experience, mostly spent at Ford, including significant time in additive manufacturing where he held roles such as technical leader and manager of Ford’s Additive Manufacturing Technology. He has received the Henry Ford Technology Award and the Additive Manufacturing Users Group’s Distinguished Innovator Operator Award.

Gerry Poirier has more than 50 years of experience in the collision and auto physical damage industries, having worked in various management roles aimed at enhancing claims processes for consumers. He is a respected member of organizations such as the Collision Repair Education Foundation and holds several certifications.
