Hayward Police Raid Home: Seize 3D Printer, Unserialized Guns, Explosive Canisters, and Over 5 Pounds of Psilocybin Mushrooms

HAYWARD — A local resident faces charges of manufacturing ghost guns, possessing a silencer, and distributing hallucinogens, along with having materials for making explosive devices. These allegations followed a report about a domestic conflict.

The criminal charges against him, detailed in an eight-count complaint, include both felonies and misdemeanors. These charges followed a police search at his residence on Pompano Avenue in Hayward, where they discovered 5.6 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms and nearly a half-ounce of LSD among other drugs like DMT.

According to police, a 24-year-old man living at the address admitted to manufacturing firearms using a 3D printer as a hobby. This admission came after police responded to the scene due to reports of the man’s erratic behavior and an altercation with a relative, court documents reveal.

Released from jail under specific conditions, the young man must avoid all weapons and participate in an “intensive outpatient program,” per a directive from an Aug. 14 court appearance. He is scheduled for a follow-up court date on Sept. 25, the records indicate.
