Inspiring 13-Year-Old Entrepreneur Teams Up with 24-Year-Old to Launch Thriving 3D Printing Business

For Kane Odom, a 13-year-old 8th grader at West Oso Middle School, a spark of inspiration ignited a journey into entrepreneurship. After contemplating the businesses around him while driving, he decided, "I can do that." He launched his own venture at just 12 years old, fueled by the skills he acquired in his school’s robotics class, where he first learned 3D modeling. His debut project? The iconic Batman signal.

Kane’s journey took a significant turn when he partnered with 24-year-old Demetrious Guzman. Together, they formed 361 Motion Makers, creating custom 3D-printed keychains, signs, and logos for clients across Texas. Realizing their combined potential, Guzman noted, "I mean, he’s a kid still, but our work is constant. It’s always moving."

During a recent visit, Kane surprised a reporter with a 3D-printed KRIS 6 News chain, showcasing their vibrant creations. The business name, "361 Motion Makers," reflects their Corpus Christi roots and their relentless drive: "We’re on a motion," Kane explained.

Their portfolio includes various designs, such as a keychain for Miller High School, which Guzman attended. Reflecting on their success, Kane remarked, "We just look back on this and say wow… how did this happen?"

As for Kane’s aspirations, he hinted at a surprise he’s saving up for, crediting his supportive parents for his entrepreneurial journey.
